Personalize Pool Tubes with Cricut

These were a hit last summer - our neighborhood pool is open!  Let's get started with a super fun project!!!

Yes!  We love going to the pool and I love pool tubes.  I thought it would be the perfect time to get a little crafty.  With these fun colors, it's hard not to create something fun, right?  So why not?  Today I teamed up with Cricut to create personalized pool tubes.  This project is pretty easy, I completed three floats in under an hour.

Cricut Maker made this project simple.  This machine is the ultimate in cutting performance and versatility.  Not all cutting machines offer Fast Mode, which works with popular materials including vinyl, iron-on, and card stock and helps me create projects two times faster than before.   I used Cricut's Design Space with Cricut fonts to design this project.  Design Space can be used with Windows or Mac systems and also iOS and Android devices.

You only needed a few things to complete this project, let's get started

Supplies:
Cricut Maker
Pool Tubes
Cricut's Premium Permanent Vinyl and Transfer Tape
12x24 Light Grip Adhesive Cutting Mat
Cricut Designer Self Healing Mat
Cricut Wedding Tool
Cricut Ruler and Cutting Knife
1.  Measure the width of the pool tubes and decided to keep the text under 4 inches long.  I typed the phrases using the Cricut font "Cricut Sans".   You can find my design in the Cricut Community (click here).
2.  Click "Make It" and then prepare your mats.
3.  Add your Premium Vinyl to your 12X24 LightGrip Adhesive Mat.  And press continue, connect your device or computer to your Cricut Machine, load the mat, and press the start button to cut your project.
4.  Apply transfer tape.
5.  Inflate your pool tubes.
6.  Adhere the letters to the tubes.  I did add the letters one at a time to accommodate the curve.  This took no time at all.  When adhering the letters, I would suggest starting at the top of each letter and smooth each letter down to prevent bubbles in the vinyl.  The transfer tape can be easily removed.

I hope you enjoy this project as much as I liked designing it.  I hope you have a great time ending your summer.  Please leave comments with any questions or comments.
