DIY Keychain: Cricut Hand Tools

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

Hello everyone!
Today I'm excited to share a super quick DIY project.  I've partnered with Cricut, however, I'm not using my Cricut Maker to create the project.  What?!?!  I know, I know, I'm using only Cricut handtools.

Do you remember I shared the Cricut hand tools with you last week?  The Cricut hand tools include TrueControl Knife (love), Rotary Cutter, Self-Healing Mat, Acrylic Ruler, and Cutting Ruler.  These tools are truly amazing.  Remember the Self-Healing Mat is reversible.  I used the other side (it's grey).  Keep reading to find out why I decided to use the other side.
Today we used the Rotary Cutter, Self-Healing Mat, and the Acrylic Ruler.  Using these tools was amazing and made the project easy to complete.  So let's get to the project.  I created a tassel keychain using Cricut Leather, glitter paint and the hand tools mentioned before.  This project is really easy, let's get started.
Supplies:
Leather
Glitter Paint
Paint Brush
Permanent Glue
Cricut Self-Healing Mat
Cricut Rotary Cutter
Acrylic Ruler
Round Split Ring

1.  Cut leather to 3/4 X 8 inches using the cutting mat, rotary cutter, and ruler.  The reverse side has measurements making cutting and measuring simple.

2.  Add round split ring and  fold leather over
3.  Ensure the leather is even, add adhesive
4.  Use clothespin or clip to hold until dry
5.  Optional:  Use glitter paint to paint the end of the key chain
5.  Using the rotary cutter, cut the leather up 2.5-3 inches, making several passes.
6.  Cut a small piece of scrap leather, gather the key chain and simply wrap and tie.
Guys this project was so fun, it's always great working with different mediums.  I hope you enjoyed it.  Have you ever work with leather, leave me a comment.
