Celebrating Black History Month with Cricut

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

February is Black History Month.  It's a time to celebrate achievements by African Americans also time to recognize the roles of blacks in US History.  I'm very grateful Cricut reached out and asked to partner with them on this project.  Today I used my Cricut Air 2 and Cricut Infusible Ink to create a shirt that means a lot to me.

It took weeks to create the words to add to this shirt.  Nothing seemed enough.  Then I took a look at my life and then thought about the history of blacks in the United States.  I thought about the struggles from years ago and also thought about some of the struggles of today.  I came up with these words:
DREAM
PROUD
STRONG
DETERMINED
ME.
I plan to celebrate Black History this year by recognizing the struggles from the past and will continue to educate my kids, remembering the important people and events of our history.

Cricut made this project so easy.  Let me share how I created this shirt.
You will need the following supplies:
 - Cricut Air 2
 - Cricut Cutting Mat
 - Cricut  Women's t-shirt blank (Compatible with Infusible Ink)
 - Cricut EasyPress2
 - Cricut EasyPress Mat
 - Infusible Ink (we used black)
 - Cardstock
 - Butcher Paper

1.   Design & Cut.  I've created the design for you HERE
2.   Remove cut design from the mat and trim away from the unused area.
3.   Remove negative pieces from your design.
4.   Place cardstock inside the shirt prevents bleeding.
5.   Place shirt on Easy Press mat.
6.   Use lint roller over the entire surface of the shirt to remove debris.
7.   Preheat EasyPress 2 to 385 degrees and set the timer for 40 seconds, use the - Cricut EasyPress Heat Transfer Guide to help you find the right temperature and timing for your project.
8.   Preheat shirt remove moisture and wrinkles.

9.   Add image to the shirt, cover with butcher paper and press for 40 seconds
10. Let everything cool, remove butcher paper and design.
The results from the Infusible Ink are amazing!  The ink is permanently infused into your base material.  No flaking, no peeling, no cracking and no wrinkling - ever!  This system delivers seamless, smooth, professional-quality transfers that become one with your material and last a lifetime.
Thank you so much for joining me today.  Leaving a comment letting me know if you've tried Infusible Ink.  I would love to see some of the projects you've worked on.
