Bling Lip Balm with Beacon's Gem-Tac

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Beacon. The opinions and text are all mine.

I think I found a new favorite craft.  I can't believe the feeling I get when I start to bling.  Bring me all the things and I will add rhinestones..  I've been wondering about the best quality glue to use when bling-ing products.  Today I teamed up with Beacon Adhesives to bling lip balm using Beacon's Gem-Tac.  The results are amazing and I have a dressed-up lip balm to dress up my makeup bag.

Beacon's Gem-Tac bonds embellishments to many surfaces including fabric, wood, glass, plastic, and more.  It's a permanent glue that bonds rhinestones, crystals, sequins, and more.  The glue is white but dries clear, and it's washable and non-toxic.

I'm a little outside my box - this project took 45-60 minutes to complete, but I promise you, the time is well worth it.  Let's start with a list of supplies to get started:

- Beacon Gem-Tac Permanent Glue

- Item to bling (we used ESO lip balm)

- Rhinestones, we used ss12 Flatback Transparent AB Glass Rhinestones, you can use small stone if you need to fill in empty spots

- Precision Applicator Bottle

- Wax Pencil

- Rhinestone tray or small container lid

Directions:

1.  Wipe your lip balm to remove any dust or dirt.

2.  Add Beacon's Gem-Tac glue to the precision bottle, filling it up about halfway.

3.  Pour your rhinestones into your rhinestone tray or lid, shaking them slightly so most of the stones are facing up. You will do this several times during the process.

4.  Start by adding a small bead of glue to your surface and add the rhinestones in a complete line - using this as your guide.  This will ensure your rhinestones will adhere to a straight pattern.

5.  Now the first row is complete, add the second bead of glue to start your second row, adding the rhinestones in between two of the above (this is called the honeycomb pattern), ensuring the stones are touching the row above.  You will start to see the pattern around row 4 or 5.

6.  Just keep going.  Adding enough glue to add up to 8-10 rhinestones at a time.

7.  Let the lip balm dry overnight before using.

I'm using more and more materials outside my comfort zone and I absolutely love it. All I need to do now - learn how to create a refill so this lip balm never runs out.

Once you start bling-ing you will never want to stop.  Do you bling?  I'm planning a bling workshop for May and would love to have you attend.  Thank you so much for joining me today, please reach out with any questions and tell us if you have tried using Beacon's Gem-Tac on any of your projects?  I would love to see some of your projects.
